Retention

Meaning in entrepreneurship & startups, with examples

In entrepreneurship & startups, retention means: A company's ability to keep its customers or users over time, usually measured as the percentage who are still active or paying after a certain period.

In Turkish: müşteriyi elde tutma, elde tutma oranı, kullanıcı bağlılığı

How it is used

Retention is the opposite of churn and one of the clearest signs of product-market fit. Teams study retention curves and cohort analysis: day 1, day 7 and day 30 retention for apps, or net revenue retention for SaaS. You improve, measure or drive retention.
