Which tool should I use first?

How the tools work

The vocabulary and CEFR tools use a list of about 32,000 English words ranked by frequency, with CEFR levels from the CEFR-J Wordlist (A1–B2) and the Octanove Vocabulary Profile (C1–C2). The list is downloaded once and the analysis runs in your browser: the text you paste is never sent to our servers.

Every result is an estimate and is labeled as one. Each tool page explains its method and its limits.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are these English learning tools really free?

Yes. All tools are free, with no sign-up and no limit on how often you use them.

Do you store the text I paste?

No. The text tools run entirely in your browser. Your text is not uploaded, stored or used for anything else.

Are the results accurate?

They are research-based estimates. CEFR levels come from published word lists, and the methods are explained on each page. For important decisions, use them alongside a teacher's judgment or an official exam.

Do the tools work for languages other than English?

Not yet. The current tools are for English text and English learners.
