Competitive analysis

Meaning in UX/UI design, with examples

nounCommon term

In UX/UI design, competitive analysis means: A review of competitors' products to see how they solve the same problems, what they do well or badly, and where there is room to do better.

In Turkish: rakip analizi, rekabet analizi

How it is used

Designers often start a project with a competitive analysis: screenshots of rival flows, a comparison table and notes on common patterns. It inspires ideas, but copying a competitor's design without testing it is risky.
