In project management, deadline means: The latest date or time by which a task, deliverable or project must be finished.

How it is used

Common in all workplaces. You set, agree, meet, miss, extend or move a deadline. A tight deadline leaves little time; a hard deadline cannot move, for example because of a legal date.
