DDP

Meaning in logistics & supply chain, with examples

abbreviationCommon term

In logistics & supply chain, DDP means: Short for Delivered Duty Paid: the Incoterms rule with the most obligations for the seller, who delivers to the named place cleared for import and pays all duties and taxes.

In Turkish: gümrük vergileri ödenmiş olarak teslim, DDP teslim

How it is used

Popular in e-commerce and with buyers who want one all-inclusive landed price. The seller must be able to act as the importer in the buyer's country, or use a partner there, which is not always possible; reclaiming import VAT can also be a problem.

Example sentences

  1. The customer asked for DDP, but we can't register as an importer in Switzerland.

  2. A DDP price includes freight, customs clearance, duties and delivery to the door.
