CMT
Meaning in fashion & textiles, with examples
In fashion & textiles, CMT means: Cut, make and trim: a production arrangement in which the brand supplies the fabric and the factory only cuts, sews and finishes the garments.
In Turkish: fason üretim, fason dikim
How it is used
CMT is the opposite of a full package or FOB arrangement, where the supplier also buys fabric and trims. CMT prices are lower because they cover only labour and overheads. In Turkey this way of working is called fason, and CMT workshops are common subcontractors.
