Dark mode

nounCore term

In mobile app development, dark mode means: A display setting that shows light text on a dark background across the system and in apps that support it, often chosen for use at night.

In Turkish: karanlık mod, koyu tema

How it is used

Both iOS and Android have offered a system-wide dark mode since 2019. Developers support dark mode by using semantic colors that change automatically, and testers check every screen in both light and dark mode. Android documentation often says 'dark theme'.
