In mobile app development, bottom sheet means: A panel that slides up from the bottom of the screen to show extra options or content, while part of the screen behind it often stays visible.

How it is used

A Material Design term; on iOS the same pattern is called a sheet, which can stop at different heights called detents. Users drag a bottom sheet up or swipe it down to dismiss it. It can be modal, blocking the screen behind, or persistent.
