How it is used

Types include fixed platforms on steel jackets, jack-ups, semi-submersibles and tension-leg platforms. People talk about the topsides, helideck and accommodation module, and they fly 'out to the platform' by helicopter. 'Rig' is used more for drilling units, 'platform' more for production.
