NDA

Meaning in entrepreneurship & startups, with examples

/ˌen diː ˈeɪ/abbreviationCommon term

In entrepreneurship & startups, NDA means: Non-disclosure agreement: a contract in which people promise not to share confidential information they receive, such as plans, code or customer data.

In Turkish: gizlilik sözleşmesi, gizlilik anlaşması

How it is used

Founders sign NDAs with partners, suppliers, freelancers and possible buyers. Most venture capital investors do not sign NDAs just to hear a pitch, because they see many similar ideas, so asking for one at a first meeting can look inexperienced.

Example sentences

  1. Before we share the code, could you sign our NDA?

  2. The buyer signed an NDA before seeing our customer list.
