Debounce
Meaning in software engineering, with examples
In software engineering, debounce means: To delay an action until events have stopped arriving for a chosen interval, usually combining rapid triggers into one action.
In Turkish: art arda tetiklemeleri geciktirerek birleştirmek
How it is used
Used for search input and resize events. Trailing execution is common; some implementations also offer a leading execution option.
Example sentences
We debounce the search input so a request runs after the user pauses typing.
Each new keystroke postpones the pending search in this trailing-edge setup.
The editor will debounce autosave but flush the pending save when the document closes.
Flushing handles a pending action that might otherwise be lost before its delay ends.
