Modified-release
Meaning in pharmacy & pharmacology, with examples
In pharmacy & pharmacology, modified-release means: Describes a tablet or capsule designed to release its drug slowly, or at a particular time or place, rather than all at once after swallowing.
In Turkish: değiştirilmiş salımlı, kontrollü salımlı, uzatılmış salımlı
How it is used
Shortened to MR, and similar letters appear in product names: SR (sustained-release), XL, ER or XR (extended-release), CR (controlled-release). These products allow fewer daily doses and steadier blood levels. They should usually not be crushed or chewed, and different MR brands are not always interchangeable.
Example sentences

The modified-release version is taken once a day instead of three times.
