App Tracking Transparency
Meaning in mobile app development, with examples
In mobile app development, App Tracking Transparency means: Apple's privacy framework, introduced in iOS 14.5, that requires apps to ask users for permission before tracking them across other companies' apps and websites.
In Turkish: Uygulama Takip Şeffaflığı, ATT
How it is used
Usually shortened to ATT. Apps show the system prompt asking to 'track your activity', and only if the user allows it can they read the device's advertising identifier (IDFA). Marketing teams talk about ATT opt-in rates and their effect on measuring ad campaigns.
