In mobile app development, privacy policy means: A public document that explains what personal data an app collects, why it collects it, who it is shared with and how users can control it.

How it is used

Both the App Store and Google Play require a privacy policy link. Developers also fill in privacy forms in the stores, called App Privacy details (privacy nutrition labels) on Apple and the Data safety section on Google Play, and these should match the policy.
