Meaning in mechanical engineering, with examples
In mechanical engineering, tensile test means: A test in which a standard sample is pulled until it breaks, to measure properties such as yield strength, tensile strength and elongation.
In Turkish: çekme deneyi, çekme testi
How it is used
Used in materials labs, quality control and material certificates. It is carried out on a universal testing machine according to standards such as ISO 6892-1 or ASTM E8. The result is a stress-strain curve and a test report.
Example sentences
