Bunkering

In maritime & shipping, bunkering means: The process of supplying fuel to a ship, usually from a barge alongside or from a terminal. The fuel itself is called bunkers.

In Turkish: yakıt ikmali, bunker alımı, bunkeraj

How it is used

Engineers prepare a bunkering plan, hold a safety meeting with the barge, take samples and sign the bunker delivery note (BDN). A spill during bunkering is a serious pollution risk, so scuppers are plugged and spill equipment is kept ready.
