FTL
Meaning in logistics & supply chain, with examples
In logistics & supply chain, FTL means: Short for full truckload: a road shipment that uses a whole truck or trailer for one customer's goods and goes directly from pickup to delivery.
In Turkish: komple tır, komple yük, FTL
How it is used
Priced per truck rather than per pallet or kilo. FTL is faster and safer for large loads because nothing is reloaded on the way. In Europe 'full load' or 'complete load' is also common; a standard trailer takes 33 Euro pallets.
Example sentences
With 30 pallets, it makes sense to book an FTL instead of sending it groupage.
FTL rates to Germany went up after the new road tolls were introduced.
