FCL
Meaning in logistics & supply chain, with examples
In logistics & supply chain, FCL means: Short for full container load: a sea shipment in which one shipper's goods fill or use a whole container on their own.
In Turkish: komple konteyner, FCL
How it is used
The opposite of LCL. FCL is priced per container (20-foot or 40-foot) and becomes cheaper than LCL once a shipment is large enough. The container is usually loaded and sealed at the shipper's premises.
Example sentences
The order is big enough to ship FCL, so we booked one 40-foot container.
FCL shipments are faster because the container doesn't go through a consolidation warehouse.
