Clinical outcome
Meaning in healthcare management, with examples
In healthcare management, clinical outcome means: The effect of care on a patient's health, such as recovery, complications, quality of life or death, used to judge how well a treatment or service works.
In Turkish: klinik sonuç, tedavi sonucu
How it is used
Usually plural. Managers report outcomes such as mortality, complication and readmission rates, often 'risk-adjusted' to allow for how ill the patients were. Outcome measures are read together with process measures, which show whether the right steps were taken.
