In data science & analytics, daily active users means: The number of unique users who use a product at least once on a given day; one of the standard measures of how engaged an audience is.

How it is used

Almost always shortened to DAU, said letter by letter. Related measures are WAU (weekly) and MAU (monthly), and the DAU/MAU ratio shows how 'sticky' a product is. Teams must agree on what counts as 'active'.
