Hash rate
Meaning in blockchain & crypto, with examples
In blockchain & crypto, hash rate means: The total computing power that miners use to secure a proof-of-work network, measured in hashes per second. A higher hash rate makes the network harder to attack.
In Turkish: hash gücü, hash oranı, ağ işlem gücü
How it is used
Also written hashrate. News and mining reports say the hash rate hit a record, dropped or recovered. Units include TH/s (terahashes per second) and EH/s (exahashes per second). Mining difficulty adjusts to follow changes in hash rate.
Example sentences
The hash rate dropped sharply when miners in the region lost power during the storm.
A rising hash rate means more miners are competing for the same block reward.
