Block reward
Meaning in blockchain & crypto, with examples
In blockchain & crypto, block reward means: The new coins a miner or validator receives for adding a block to the chain. On many networks, the transaction fees in that block are paid on top of the reward.
In Turkish: blok ödülü
How it is used
Used when explaining how miners and validators are paid: the block reward, the block subsidy (only the newly created coins), fees plus rewards. In Bitcoin the block reward falls with each halving, so fees are expected to matter more over time.
Example sentences
The current block reward on Bitcoin is 3.125 BTC.
When the network is busy, fees can add a lot to the block reward.
