In real estate, floor plan means: A drawing that shows the layout of a property from above, with the rooms, doors, windows and their measurements.

How it is used

Listings usually include a floor plan next to the photos so buyers can understand the layout. An open floor plan, or open-plan layout, means the kitchen, dining and living areas form one space.
