In music, headliner means: The main performer at a concert or festival, whose name is shown first or biggest and who usually plays last and longest.
In Turkish: ana sanatçı, ana grup, baş isim
How it is used
Festivals 'announce the headliners'; bands 'headline a festival' or 'headline the main stage'. Acts before them are 'support acts' or 'opening acts'. Promoters book headliners first because they sell the most tickets.
Example sentences
The festival announced its three headliners, and early tickets sold out in a day.
Five years ago they were an opening act; now they're the headliner.
Common collocations
