Performance rating
Meaning in industrial engineering & manufacturing, with examples
In industrial engineering & manufacturing, performance rating means: In time study, the analyst's judgment of how fast a worker is working compared with a normal pace, used to turn observed time into normal time.
In Turkish: performans değerlendirmesi, tempo takdiri, performans faktörü
How it is used
Given as a percentage: 100% is normal pace, and 110% means faster than normal. Normal time = observed time × rating. Rating takes training and practice, and workers and unions often question it because it is partly subjective.
Example sentences
The observed time was 50 seconds and I gave a performance rating of 90%, so the normal time is 45 seconds.
Two engineers rated the same video to check that their performance ratings agree.
