Entry stamp
Meaning in immigration & visas, with examples
In immigration & visas, entry stamp means: A mark printed in your passport by a border officer showing the date and place you entered a country.
In Turkish: giriş damgası, giriş mührü
How it is used
Officers use entry and exit stamps to count how long you have stayed. Some regions are replacing stamps with digital entry and exit records, so your passport may not be stamped at all. Travellers check that the stamp is clear and the date is correct.
