Call an ambulance
Meaning in emergency medicine & first aid, with examples
In emergency medicine & first aid, call an ambulance means: To phone the emergency number and ask for an ambulance to come to a sick or injured person.
In Turkish: ambulans çağırmak
How it is used
The most natural everyday phrase; 'call 911', 'dial 999' and, in British English, 'ring for an ambulance' are also used. First aid trainers teach people in a crowd to point at one person and say 'You, call an ambulance', because a general request is often ignored.
