Via
Meaning in electrical & electronics engineering, with examples
In electrical & electronics engineering, via means: A small plated hole in a PCB that connects a trace or copper area on one layer to another layer.
In Turkish: via, geçiş deliği, katmanlar arası geçiş
How it is used
Used in multilayer PCB design. Engineers place or add vias, talk about via size and drill size, and distinguish through-hole vias from blind and buried vias. Groups of vias under hot components carry heat to other layers and are called thermal vias.
Example sentences
Put a via next to each decoupling capacitor to reach the ground plane.
Blind vias would make the board much more expensive.
