Axonometric
Meaning in architecture, with examples
In architecture, axonometric means: A three-dimensional drawing without vanishing points, in which parallel lines stay parallel, so the object can be measured along its main axes.
In Turkish: aksonometri, aksonometrik çizim
How it is used
Popular in competitions and portfolios because it explains a whole building at once. Architects often say 'axo' for short. An exploded axonometric separates the layers or parts of a building, and an isometric is one type of axonometric.
Example sentences
An exploded axonometric would explain the structure better than three sections.
Can you draw a quick axonometric of the roof garden?
