In web development, CDN means: Content Delivery Network: a network of servers around the world that stores copies of a site's files and delivers them from the location closest to each user.

How it is used

Cloudflare, Fastly, Akamai and Amazon CloudFront are well-known CDNs. Developers put images, scripts and even whole pages behind a CDN and purge the CDN cache after a release.
