In sports & fitness, team sport means: A sport in which players play together as a team against another team, such as football, basketball, volleyball or handball.

How it is used

Used in PE, sports science and everyday talk, often in contrast to individual sports such as tennis, swimming or athletics. Coaches speak of team sport athletes and the physical demands of team sports.
