Cross-site scripting
Meaning in cybersecurity, with examples
In cybersecurity, cross-site scripting means: A web vulnerability in which an application includes untrusted input in a page without proper encoding, so that a harmful script runs in other users' browsers.
In Turkish: siteler arası betik çalıştırma, XSS
How it is used
Abbreviated XSS, not CSS, which is the styling language. Types include stored, reflected and DOM-based XSS. Output encoding and a Content Security Policy (CSP) are the standard defences, and reports often rate stored XSS higher than reflected XSS.
