In artificial intelligence & machine learning, epoch means: One complete pass of the training process through the whole training dataset. Models are usually trained for several epochs.

How it is used

Used with numbers: train for 10 epochs, after epoch 3, loss per epoch. Very large models may see their data only once, so people count steps or tokens instead. In Turkish teams the English word is used almost always.
