Purchase order
Meaning in accounting & tax, with examples
In accounting & tax, purchase order means: A document a buyer sends to a supplier to order goods or services, stating the items, quantities, prices and delivery terms agreed.
In Turkish: satın alma siparişi, sipariş formu
How it is used
Shortened to PO. Many companies follow a 'no PO, no pay' policy, so suppliers must quote the PO number on their invoice. A three-way match checks the PO, the goods receipt and the invoice.

The purchase order was approved, but the goods haven't arrived yet.
