Tehlikeli bir durumda makineyi olabildiğince hızlı ve güvenli biçimde durduran, sarı zemin üzerindeki kırmızı mantar başlı buton ya da bu butonun sağladığı işlev.

Nerede ve nasıl kullanılır?
Genellikle 'E-stop' denir. Acil stop'a basılır (press, hit), ardından buton çevrilerek ya da çekilerek serbest bırakılır (release) ve sistem yeniden başlatılmadan önce resetlenir. Acil stop devresi, durdurma kategorisi ve devreye almada her butonun test edilmesi gibi konular konuşulur. Normal durdurma butonu yerine asla kullanılmamalıdır.
