Null hypothesis, istatistikte sıfır hipotezi, boş hipotez, yokluk hipotezi anlamına gelir.
İstatistiksel bir testte etki, fark ya da ilişki olmadığını öne süren varsayılan önerme; test, verinin bu önermeye karşı yeterli kanıt sunup sunmadığını sınar.

Nerede ve nasıl kullanılır?
H₀ diye yazılır ve 'H-nought' ya da 'H-zero' diye okunur. Sonuçlar 'reject' (reddetmek) ya da 'fail to reject' (reddedememek) kalıplarıyla ifade edilir; sıfır hipotezinin 'kabul edildiğini' ya da 'kanıtlandığını' söylemek yanlış kabul edilir. Konuşmada kısaca 'the null' denir.
