Nerede ve nasıl kullanılır?
α (alfa) ile gösterilir ve çoğunlukla 0,05, bazen 0,01 ya da 0,10 olarak belirlenir. 'At the 5% significance level' (%5 anlamlılık düzeyinde) ve 'significant at α = .05' tipik kalıplardır. Alfayı düşürmek yanlış pozitifleri azaltır, ama testin gücünü de düşürür.
