Null hypothesis, veri biliminde sıfır hipotezi, boş hipotez anlamına gelir.
İstatistiksel bir testte hiçbir etki ya da fark olmadığını öne süren varsayılan kabul; örneğin yeni bir tasarımın dönüşüm oranını değiştirmediği varsayımı.
English: The default assumption in a statistical test that there is no effect or no difference, for example that a new design does not change the conversion rate.
Nerede ve nasıl kullanılır?
H0 şeklinde yazılır ve 'H-nought' ya da 'H-zero' diye okunur. Sıfır hipotezi reddedilir ya da reddedilemez; istatistikçiler onu 'kabul etmek' (accept) demekten kaçınır. Karşıtı alternatif hipotezdir (H1). Türkçede 'sıfır hipotezi' ya da 'boş hipotez' denir.
