In software engineering, local notification means: A notification that the app schedules on the device itself, for example a reminder at 9 a.m., without needing a server to send it.

How it is used

Used for reminders, alarms, timers and calendar events. Developers schedule, cancel and update local notifications, and they still need the user's notification permission. Compared with push notifications, which come from a server.
