Lazy loading
Meaning in software engineering, with examples
In software engineering, lazy loading means: A technique that waits to load images, videos or code until they are actually needed, for example when the user scrolls near them.
In Turkish: tembel yükleme, geç yükleme, lazy loading
How it is used
For images and iframes it can be as simple as loading="lazy". In JavaScript apps, routes and components are lazy-loaded with dynamic import(). Images at the top of the page are usually not lazy-loaded, because that would delay the main content.
Example sentences
Lazy loading the product images cut the initial page weight in half.
The admin pages use lazy loading, so normal users never download that code.
