In software engineering, HTML means: HyperText Markup Language: the standard language for describing the structure and content of a web page, such as headings, paragraphs, links and images.

How it is used

Said letter by letter. Developers write and validate HTML and talk about HTML files, HTML templates and the HTML a framework outputs. People still say HTML5, although the standard is now simply updated as the HTML Living Standard.
