In software engineering, PaaS means: Short for platform as a service: a ready-made platform where you only upload your code, and the provider runs the servers, operating system and runtime for you.

How it is used

Pronounced like the word 'pass'. Heroku, Google App Engine, Azure App Service and AWS Elastic Beanstalk are common examples. PaaS saves operations work but gives you less control than IaaS.
