P-value

Meaning in software engineering, with examples

nounCommon term

In software engineering, p-value means: The probability of seeing a result at least as extreme as the one observed if there were really no effect, that is, if the null hypothesis were true.

In Turkish: p değeri, anlamlılık değeri

Example sentences

  1. The p-value was 0.03, so the result is significant at the 5% level.

  2. Don't stop the test early just because the p-value dipped below 0.05 on day two.
