In software engineering, FCM means: Firebase Cloud Messaging: Google's free service for sending push notifications and data messages to Android, iOS and web apps.

How it is used

The standard way to send push notifications on Android, and widely used for iOS too, where it forwards messages through APNs. Developers get an FCM registration token for each device and send messages with the HTTP v1 API or the Firebase console. It replaced the older Google Cloud Messaging (GCM).
