Nerede ve nasıl kullanılır?
İki anlamı vardır: trigonometride tan x = sin x / cos x (SOH CAH TOA'daki 'TOA'); geometride ve türevde ise 'the tangent to the curve at a point' (eğriye bir noktada çizilen teğet), o noktada eğriyle aynı eğime sahiptir. Türkçede bu iki anlam için ayrı kelimeler kullanılır: 'tanjant' ve 'teğet'.
