Mock, yazılımda sahte nesne, taklit nesne anlamına gelir.
Testlerde gerçek bir nesnenin ya da servisin yerine kullanılan sahte sürüm; davranışını kontrol etmenizi ve kodunuzun onu nasıl kullandığını doğrulamanızı sağlar. Fiil olarak da kullanılır: bir servisi mock'lamak.

Nerede ve nasıl kullanılır?
Geliştiriciler veritabanları, ödeme sağlayıcıları ve dış API'ler için mock oluşturur; böylece birim testleri hızlı ve ağ bağlantısı olmadan çalışır. Sık kalıplar: 'mock the API', 'mock out the clock', 'too many mocks'. Türkçede 'mock'lamak' denir.
