İdari personel gelen postayı açar, ayırır ve dağıtır; giden postayı da gönderir. Bu işlerin yapıldığı yere post room ya da mailroom denir. Türk kurumlarında bu iş genellikle "gelen-giden evrak" birimi tarafından yürütülür.
