「Maya and the Yellow Umbrella」A1英語の本

She looks at it. “This is not my umbrella,” she says. She picks it up. It is wet but clean. Maya looks around. No one is there. She stands near the bench and waits. Time passes. The rain continues. Maya thinks, “I must find the owner.” She walks again. She holds both umbrellas. She sees a man. “Excuse me,” Maya says. “Is this your umbrella?” The man looks. “No,” he says. Maya walks again. She sees a woman. “Is this your umbrella?” Maya asks. The woman looks. “No,” she says. Maya feels a little tired. She stands under a tree. Then she sees a small boy. The boy looks sad. Maya walks to him. “Hello,” Maya says. “Are you okay?” The boy says, “I lost my umbrella.” Maya shows the blue umbrella. “Is this yours?” she asks. The boy looks. His face becomes happy. “Yes! This is mine!” he says. Maya smiles. She gives the umbrella. “Thank you,” the boy says. “I was wet and cold.” Maya feels warm. “You are welcome,” she says. The boy smiles and runs to his home. Maya stands in the rain. She holds her yellow umbrella. She feels happy. Then she walks home. At home, her mother asks, “How was your day?” Maya smiles. “It was a rainy and good day,” she says. At night, Maya listens to the rain. She feels calm. She thinks about the boy. She smiles. It was a simple day. But it was a kind day.
