英文法 · レベル A1

時と場所の前置詞

Prepositions of Time and Place

時刻にはat、曜日や日付にはon、月・年・季節にはinを使うのが基本です。場所ではinは内部、onは表面、atは地点として捉えると理解しやすくなります。

使い方のポイント

last、next、this、everyで始まる時間表現には通常in/on/atを付けません。next Mondayやevery dayと表します。

Elena's working week

Elena works at a small hotel in Boston. Her day starts at 6:30 in the morning. She has breakfast in the kitchen and reads the news on the bus. The hotel is on Beacon Street, and her desk is on the first floor, next to the main entrance. She works from Monday to Friday, so she is free on weekends. In the summer, the hotel is very busy, and Elena often stays at work until nine. At night, she reads in bed or watches a movie on her laptop. Her birthday is on July 9, and this year she wants to spend it at the beach in Maine.
