過去形
Past Simple
過去のある時点で終わった動作や状態を表します。規則動詞には-edを付け、不規則動詞はそれぞれの過去形を使います。疑問文はdid、否定文はdidn'tで作ります。
使い方のポイント
did/didn'tの後は動詞の原形です。Did you go?とし、Did you went?とは言いません。be動詞の過去形はwas/wereです。

Last Saturday, Leo and his sister Mia drove to the coast. They left home early, but the traffic was terrible, and they didn't arrive until noon. The beach was beautiful, so they walked along the sand to a little restaurant. Leo ordered fish, and Mia tried the local soup. In the afternoon, it started to rain. They didn't have umbrellas, so they ran back to the car. Halfway home, Leo suddenly stopped the car. His wallet wasn't in his pocket! Did he leave it at the restaurant? They turned around and went back. The owner met them at the door. "A waiter found it an hour ago," she said. They got home late, tired and wet, but they laughed about it all evening.
